For the confused people on my dash, Eurovision is an event where all the European countries have a musician and a song and they all battle it out like the Hunger Games. Only one will come out alive. They will become King of Europe and control the EU and everyone has to speak that language for the year until next Eurovision.

The giant golden-crowned flying fox (Acerodon jubatus), also known as the golden-capped fruit bat, is a rare megabat  and one of the largest bats in the world. The species is endangered and is currently facing the possibility of extinction because of poaching and forest destruction. It is endemic to forests in the Philippines.

A picture from an 1899 edition of Harmsworth Magazine entitled ‘If London Were Like Venice’. In the late 19th century it was believed that London was subsiding and would eventually be partially submerged by the River Thames. In response to this theory Harmsworth Magazine released a series of manipulated photographs imagining landmarks such as St Paul’s Cathedral, Regent Street, Horse Guards Parade and Her Majesty’s Theatre surrounded by canals filled with gondolas.
